Green Goddess Shake

Ever thought of mixing different elements together to make a shake which absolutely rocks? Well, this is one of the most incredible shakes you would find.

The goodness of spinach, kale mingling with apples and a healthy boost of protein is one of the best ways to start the day.

We suggest using tart green apples to get the shake going, and using a hefty scoop of protein powder to boost it up.

All-natural whey protein is a great addition, and many times, a big scoop of fat-free yogurt is also a great addition.

Mix everything together and watch your body come alive healthily within moments of consumption. Apples contain high doses of malic acid, great for your body, while kale is very rich in antioxidants and Vitamin K.

Spinach is known for its miraculous properties. A storehouse of huge masses of vitamins and minerals, spinach is one of the most powerful green vegetables. A tiny pinch of salt adds to the taste greatly.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple, preferably green, cored and cut into pieces
  • 1 handful curly kale, washed
  • 1 handful fresh spinach, washed
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon plain nonfat yogurt (optional)
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Procedure:

In a mixer blend together the kale and spinach, adding half the ice, lemon juice and yogurt to it. Blend till the mixture is a coarse puree. Add the apples and make this into a very smooth puree. Once that is done, add the remaining ice, protein powder, salt and blend again till the mixture is done to your liking.

Pour into a glass and drink up immediately. This drink tastes better when served immediately and does not taste good when you have kept it for a while, so it is advised to make it at the point of consumption.
