Most common fitness mistakes made by women

The following are some of the common mistakes that women do as they try to keep fit yet they are misinformed

  • The constant use of sunscreen

Although it is important to protect yourself from the harmful effects of ultra violet rays that cause skin cancer, some sunlight is still healthy for you. Avoid applying lots of sunscreen every now and then.

For instance, if you’ll only be outside for a short time say like 20 minutes or it is not a sunny day as such, do not apply it. Sunlight converts a compound in our skin to vitamin D which is our major vitamin D source, which from food is just a complement.

  • Taking bottled Water

Bottled water is not as regulated as the tap water. In the US, tap water is safe to drink, moreover, it is supplemented with fluoride mineral as a general way to provide it to the community.

Fluoride greatly reduces cavity. In recent years most women opt for bottled water which should be discouraged.

  • Skipping Meals to save on calories

Research has shown that one of the most important meals is breakfast. This is because it helps to boosts the rate of metabolism throughout the day and also gives a good start to your day by supplying you with sufficient nutrients.

  • Skipping a fruit to save calories

Most women often skip a glass of juice or even a fruit to save fifty calories. This is a bad idea and they should be advised to skip those beverages that are of low nutrient value such as alcohol, candy and chocolate.

  • Avoiding to lift weights

Many women are misinformed by thinking that lifting weights will look masculine and bulky as their muscle will increase. Building muscle burns calories to start with but the advantage is experienced when you walk around with more muscle hence increasing your metabolism.
